The final concert of the XLIV International Music Festival “December Evenings of Svyatoslav Richter” takes place at the Pushkin Museum
25.12.2025
On december 25 in the White Hall of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts there is the final concert of the XLIV International Music Festival “December Evenings of Svyatoslav Richter” – “The Paris Opera Canopy”.
The painting of the ceiling of the Opera Garnier Theater in Paris remained the most ambitious creation of Marc Chagall. The 77-year-old artist painted a 220-square-meter canvas on his own for a year. Chagall divided the ceiling lamp into five color sectors, each of which is dedicated to the most significant, in the artist’s opinion, opera and ballet works of European music.
The program of the final concert of the festival does not copy the exact list of composers and works depicted by Chagall, but follows his principle: he expressed himself in the triumph of music as a universal art, in the diversity of national schools, epochs and genres, covering all spheres of existence. This evening, works by Mozart, Gluck, Debussy, Stravinsky, Sarasate, Ravel and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky will be performed from the stage.
The following people take part in the concert:
Arseniy Gazizov (double bass)
Valentina Borisova (harp)
Sofia Ivina (flute)
Fyodor Osver (oboe)
The ensemble of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music “Altro coro”
Moscow Soloists Chamber Ensemble
Maestro Yuri Bashmet is at the conductor’s desk.
