The Belarusian-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Yuri Bashmet will perform in Moscow and Minsk
19.11.2025
On November 24, a concert of the renewed composition of the Belarusian-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of maestro Yuri Bashmet will take place in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
The concert program is dedicated to two significant dates of the past year. This is the memory of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, for which both Belarus and Russia paid a terrible price for the lives of millions of soldiers and civilians. A tribute to the memory of the Great Victory will be the performance of Kuzma Bodrov’s “Requiem” based on poems by Robert Rozhdestvensky. In the alternation of the music of our contemporary and the poignantly emotional poems of the poet of the sixties, the most important place is given to the reader – as at the premiere, the outstanding actor, People’s Artist of Russia Sergey Garmash will perform in this role.
Another date is the 185th anniversary of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s birth. His works, like a century and a half ago, bring the light of Russian culture to all continents of the world. The program of the evening will feature Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.
“It’s wonderful that young talented musicians from Russia and Belarus are joining forces in a single band. In our difficult times, when there are many conflicts around, it is wonderful that art and classical music unite young people. This means that we have not just a future, but a future filled with creativity, professional achievements and the joy of living together on stage,” said Maestro Bashmet.
Immediately after the concert in Moscow, on November 25, the same orchestra will perform at the Belarusian State Philharmonic in Minsk.
The concerts of the Belarusian-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra will be held with the support of the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus.
