Italian ensemble La Venexiana will perform at the VII Winter International Yuri Bashmet Art Festival

18.01.2026

On February 3, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall will host a concert by the Italian ensemble La Venexiana as part of the VII Winter International Yuri Bashmet Art Festival. The program of the concert “Endless Voices of Love” will immerse listeners in the atmosphere of the musical culture of Venice of the Renaissance and Baroque periods.

La Venexiana Ensemble was founded in 1997 and since its inception has established itself as a leading interpreter of Italian music of the XVI–XVII centuries. The musicians successfully perform at concert venues in Europe and America, and their recordings have been recognized at international competitions. Since 2017, the artistic director of the ensemble has been Gabriele Palomba, an outstanding lutenist and conductor.

The concert “Endless Voices of Love” will present to the audience works reflecting the main themes of the musical art of Venice: madrigals by Claudio Monteverdi, songs by Barbara Strozza and dances by Tarquinio Merula. These works demonstrate the richness and diversity of the musical culture of that time, as well as its connection with the theme of love, which is one of the key themes in the world musical tradition.
