Yuri Bashmet’s Grand Autumn Concert will traditionally take place in Sochi

11.11.2025

On November 16, the Winter Theater will host the traditional Big Autumn Concert by Yuri Bashmet. This year’s concert will be dedicated to the work of the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

The concert program includes works by Pyotr Ilyich.:

The Andante from the Second String Quartet is one of Tchaikovsky’s most prized works of the Moscow period.

Two romances for baritone and strings: “Feat” and “Why?”

Pezzo capriccioso is a musical dedication to cellist Anatoly Brandukov.

Two Romances for mezzo-soprano and strings: “He loved me so much” and “To Forget so soon…”

Two plays from the cycle “Memories of an expensive place”: “Reflection” and “Melody” are music born in the Brails estate of Nadezhda von Meck.

Waltz-scherzo for violin and orchestra

The string sextet “Memory of Florence” is one of Tchaikovsky’s most striking chamber compositions, inspired by his stay in Italy.

The concert will be attended by laureates of the Tchaikovsky International Competition: Pavel Milyukov (violin), Alexander Ramm (cello), as well as young opera singers Anna Yurkus (mezzo-soprano) and Nikolai Zemlyanskikh (baritone).

Maestro Yuri Bashmet is at the console of the Moscow Soloists Chamber Ensemble.
