“FORTUNATISSIMO or HOPELESSLY HAPPY MAN”
Based on pieces of G. Rossini and P. Beaumarchais “The Barber of Seville”

Creators of that unusual acting could shift a legendary creation of Gioachino Rossini and play of Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais about adventures of Figaro to a theatrical language.

Spectator sees theatrical show where a literary base of well-known Frenchman and a music of genius Italian will become not a dogma but a rich source for marvelous scenic FANTASY.

FANTASY that is translated into action on the stage by a chamber orchestra “Moscow soloists” and maestro Yuri Bashmet, a famous theatre and movie actor Evgeniy Stychkin and opera stars. FANTASY where set and digital effects as well as the most innovative theatrical miracles will be in line with this opera chef d’oeuvre (created especially for a Rome carnival, as is known).

Main part of this theatrical game proposed to spectators will be the mind of The Barber of Seville ’s AUTHOR, his unique and paradoxical inner world which is possible to create magical sounds and bizarre images.

Makers of the production have shown a creative mind of the famous composer as an amazing “mechanism”.

Author, creator and set designer of “FORTUNATISSIMO” and a well-known Saint-Petersburg director Victor Kramer has translated this “creative mechanism” in a large-scale stage object – “MUSICAL MACHINE”.

This NAÏVE, BUFFOON “MUSICAL MACHINE” is a large mechanism, covered with all sorts of special effects, which will like a fantastic being respond to any flashes of author mind and create surprises and miracles during all the play.
As everything happening in this performance is a GAME with the opera The Barber of Seville, one of the main expressive means is a music which absolutely corresponds to that production trick. Composer Kuzma Bodrov has rethought a well-known piece of Rossini and created few glorious works that decorate on equal terms with The Barber of Seville the musical fabric of this production.
